Egg Turner
Egg Turner
Ducklings due to hatch on Monday? Q about taking them out of the egg turner.?
Ok so my Cayuga duck eggs are due to hatch on Monday ( May 5 ). I am taking then out of the egg turner tomarro and placing them on the wire mesh at the bottom of the incubator. I am taking them out in the early morning ( 7:30 ) b/c I am gonna be gone all day at my daughters school for an activity that they are doing there, that involves the parents. anyway-that doesn't really matter. But I was just wondering somthing.
Ok, so a couple of my eggs have misplaced air pouches. They have part of the air pouch where it is supposed to be, but then the other part of the air pouch goes all messed up on one side of the shell. I was just wondering, if When I place'em on the wire mesh, If I should place the side that has the messed up air pouch facing the ground or the side that doesn't have a messed up air pouch facing the ground. PLEASE HELP!!
When did I ever mention "helping them out of their eggs"????
I'm sorry, but I don't think they will live. Try whatever you think, but don't leave messed up eggs in there. That egg could effect the others.

Breeding Discus Fish- Simple Tips That Will Help You Breed Discus Fish Easily
One of the most popular aquarium fish in the world is the discus. Research has shown that the discus fish has very extensive social customs, so that is why it can be so picky about which fish it mates with. The discus, which prefers to live in groups, originated in the Amazon (and along its tributaries). Therefore, if you want for your own aquarium, be sure to purchase more than one fish.
It could be a bit difficult to breed discus fish since they are picky about whom they mate with, require stipulated temperature for egg laying and very clean water. If you plan on doing this at home, stick to the following tips on breeding discus fish:
#1. Get a big water tank (approximately 10 gallons in size) so that you will be able to keep at least 4 discus fish inside of it. Your discus will be very unhappy if it doesn't have at least several companions! It would be wise to have two from each gender.
#2. An additional suggestion on breeding discus fish would be to fasten a thermometer onto the tank, as this will help to retain a consistent temperature. To breed your discus fish, it will need to be 80 degrees in the tank.
#3. You must always ensure that your tank's water is clean. Recurrent modifications of the same may be called for if you feed your fish a little more than is necessary. Never forget that the discus fish prefer breeding in clean water.
#4. As soon as you spot a pair of discus cleaning an area in the tank, that is a sure sign that they will be breeding together. Take that pair of fish and place them into a smaller tank of water so that they are able to lay their eggs. Additionally, the eggs will be fertilized by the two fish, so you should allow them to reside in the smaller tank for a while.
