What is the best kind of non-slip pathway to put around a new in-ground pool?
We are having an in-ground pool built and are not sure what kind of walkway to put around the pool. We live in an area that gets to 106 degrees in the summer and down to 5 degrees in the winter. Also we have grandchildren and a partially disabled adult son so we would like some suggestions on no-slip surfaces. Thanks.
Natural stone makes a good non-slip surface, but it gets pretty damn hot in the sun, especially at 105 degrees. Inerlocking concrete pavers are also a good non-slip surface, but again they are going to get really hot in the full sun. I lived in Phoenix for a spell and they used a concrete pool decking that is troweled out on to a concrete base like stucco to a wall. It's white to reflect the sun and rough textured. It was very non-slip, even when wet, and pretty cool on my bare feet.
